The Medical Protection Society (MPS)
MPS helps doctors with the legal problems that arise from their clinical practice.
MPS is the largest mutual medical protection organisation operating internationally, offering a wide range of benefits on a discretionary basis. They have more than 200,000 members in over 40 countries - in the UK they have more than 100,000 members across the healthcare professions.
MPS exists purely for the benefit of members, providing them with medico-legal advice and assistance and protecting them in an increasingly litigious climate. For their student members they have developed a student scheme that provides support while training.
The Medical Defense Union (MDU)
The MDU is a mutual, not for profit, organisation owned by it's members. Established in 1885, they were the world's first medical defence organisation and have led the way ever since.
They defend the professional reputations of members when their clinical performance is called into question.
